Leukaemia

Symptoms:

  • Anaemia – tiredness, fatigue, weakness and dizziness.
  • Increased bleeding or bruising.
  • Frequent or repeated infections.
  • Bleeding gums or blood in urine or after a bowel motion.

Lymphoma

Lymphoma is the general term for cancers that develop in the lymphatic system. It is the 6th most common type of cancer in New Zealand affecting over 800 people every year.

  • Swollen lymph nodes in the neck under the arms or groin.
  • Regular and frequent fevers.
  • Excessive sweating, usually at night and often drenching.

Myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells. The majority of people diagnosed with myeloma are over the age of 50.
